Like all American football games, you're either going to like it or never go near it. The improvements over the cartridge version are limited to a few minor graphical tweaks, some speech and music, and a selection of videos where you can listen to Bill Walsh expound on all aspects of college life as well as the sport itself if you're so inclined. The game plays well enough - nothing extraordinary but not particularly bad either, though the sound effects are rough and stadia graphics bland. Sports games don't normally hold much interest for collectors, but as the only example of American football on the Mega-CD (none of EA's popular Madden series were ever converted), it has something of a novelty value. |
